I always have a deep sense of gratitude that I am able to experience such joy from being out in nature. The low horizon line in this piece emphasises the peaceful sky which is also seen in the still reflections from the flooded fields. Using a limited colour palette of alizarin crimson, dusky pinks, rusty ochres and soft greens creates a warm glow of joyousness. The landscape is made from layers of thin and opaque paint, with beautiful patterns and surface textures that can be reminiscent of another place entirely.
I have hand painted the frame in grey with a touch of phthalo blue that sets off the painting beautifully as in the pictures.
UV varnished with a cold wax buffed finish
