'Among the gorse, the way opens'

The gorse along this dappled pathway was a sight to behold. The yellow was so dazzling in the sunshine and could restore anyone’s low spirits.

I have mixed cold wax into the oil paint to bring in more texture and used a variety of tools to create different and interesting marks. The cool blues and purples of the shadows enable the yellows and oranges to radiate and fill you with joy as well as bring a sense of calm.

UV varnished.

Unframed is 23cm × 33cm. £225. The sides are painted dark aubergine.

Framed is 26cm x 36cm. £250 in a hand painted grey/green tray frame. It will come ready to hang, strung and screwed in place.
