A whopping catch up!!

Prints, Gallery representation & upcoming exhibitions.

As promised here is the news since April!

You must be thinking, “Well I don’t hear from Lisa in months and then I get 2 newsletters in one week!!

Prints

I finally managed to find a business that makes top quality prints of my paintings. I wanted it to be fairly near to me as it was important that I could view the prints to ensure the colours were an exact match. ‘Deadly Digital’ sounded like a scary place but they couldn’t have been more helpful and assuring, and I was absolutely overcome with how good the results were.

They are printed on high quality German etching paper that is slightly textured, which makes the final print look like a water colour painting!

They have used top quality inks that won’t fade in the sun.

I can also offer them in a card frame mount, so that it can go straight into a frame of your choice.

Saltwater Gallery

I was delighted to get a reply from a gallery after enquiring whether they would like to exhibit my work. I had visited ‘Saltwater Gallery’ when over on the Isle of Arran and was quite jealous of the owner, Senja, who is actually an artist herself and works as the gallery owner as well as painting in the attached studio!

So I carted my ‘Muse’ series onto the ferry, in a suitcase for her to browse over. And after a lovely conversation she said that they would love to represent me.

It is a beautiful gallery, just outside of Brodick, which attracts lots of tourists that come to the Island.

So I will continue to paint different views of the island, whenever I am over there.

Upcoming exhibitions

Two of my paintings have been selected to be part of the Big Art Show 2024.

It will run from the 30th August - 16th November in Paisley, Renfrewshire.

It is one of the largest exhibitions in Scotland and always proves to be very popular with more than 12,000 visitors expected this year.

I have had 1 painting selected for this exhibition ‘Now & then’ run by Visual Arts Scotland.

It is being held in Scotland’s historic Dalkeith Palace, just outside of Edinburgh, this August, from 17th -25th, and will showcase over 540 artworks from 341 artists, making this a record breaking exhibition for the arts charity as it honours its 100th year.

What’s next?

Even though I am on my summer break from teaching, I certainly won’t be taking a break from my art! The sunshine hasn’t made much of an appearance which doesn’t bother me as I can work happily away in my studio.

I have recently uploaded a series of 4 paintings called ‘Quiet Reflections’ onto my website, but I love them so much that I am thinking of adding a few more smaller ones to this collection.

Of course I will be spending most of time in my other happy place, on the Isle of Arran, where I will be collecting ideas for the next series of work whilst also enjoying my other pastimes of hiking, outdoor swimming and kayaking, all of which will be enjoyed with my ever faithful friend, Buster!
